Islamabad: “Chowkidar chor hai” slogan was heard at a rally addressed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sheikh Rashid Ahmed in Punjab province on Sunday against Imran Khan's ouster as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. In a viral video, thousands of protestors were seen gathered at Lal Haveli against Khan's ouster. They raised the slogan “Chowkidar chor hai”, referring to the Pakistan Army as “chowkidar”, or the gatekeeper, and called them "chor", or thieves. The crowd used the slogan, which was first raised in India by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi, against its Army for allegedly stealing Imran Khan's mandate. Former interior minister Sheikh Rashid, however, was seen trying to stop the protestors from raising the slogan against the country's Army. “Don't raise slogans... we will fight with peace,” he said.
