Karnataka Bhavan Tussle: DyCM’s Officer Accuses CM’s Aide Of Threat And Assault Attempt

A confrontation between two senior officials at Karnataka Bhavan has escalated into a formal complaint involving serious allegations. H Anjaneya, Special Officer to Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, has accused C Mohan Kumar, Assistant Resident Commissioner and Special Officer to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, of threatening to assault him with a shoe during an argument.
In a written complaint submitted to Resident Commissioner Imkongla Jamir, Anjaneya claimed that Mohan Kumar verbally abused him and attempted to physically assault him in front of other staff, including a female officer.
“He openly declared that he would remove his boots and hit me. He tried to assault me inside the office premises,” Anjaneya stated, alleging continued interference in his duties since Mohan Kumar took charge.
The complainant also cited past misconduct by Kumar, including alleged assaults on other officials and misuse of authority, and requested a departmental inquiry into his service record, conduct, and promotional history. Anjaneya warned that should any harm come to him, Mohan Kumar should be held responsible. He urged authorities to ensure justice and preserve the dignity of officers at Karnataka Bhavan.
BJP Hits Back
Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, R. Ashoka, took to X (formerly Twitter) to condemn the ruling Congress party: “AICC Chief Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi have completely lost control over Karnataka. The public slugfest between CM Siddaramaiah and DCM D. K. Shivakumar has crossed every limit – from backroom politics to open threats in Karnataka Bhavan, Delhi. If this is the state of governance, how can anyone trust Karnataka Congress to run the state?”
