Mumbai-Bound Indigo Flight Receives Bomb Threat At Kolkata Airport

An IndiGo flight (6E 5227) scheduled to depart from Kolkata to Mumbai received a bomb threat just before takeoff on Tuesday, prompting immediate security measures. A passenger reportedly alerted authorities about the threat, following which the aircraft was promptly moved to an isolation bay at Kolkata airport in accordance with established safety protocols. All the necessary checks were then conducted and the standard operations were followed.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) began an inquiry. The flight is now at the Kolkata airport.
“IndiGo flight 6E 5227 operating from Kolkata to Mumbai received a bomb threat prior to departure. In accordance with security protocols, the aircraft was moved to an isolation bay at Kolkata airport. All necessary checks were conducted, and the standard operating procedures were followed. We thank our passengers for their patience and cooperation,” IndiGo said in a statement.
“The safety and security of our customers, crew, and aircraft remain our top priority,” the aicraft further added.
