Director Who Offered Film To Viral Girl Monalisa Arrested For Rape

Director Sanoj Mishra, who offered a film to Maha Kumbh viral girl Monalisa, has been arrested. The action was taken after the Delhi High Court refused to grant anticipatory bail to the film director accused of raping a girl and clicking her obscene photographs. The girl from a small town aspired to become an actress.
The court had said that this is not a case of granting bail after arrest but a matter of anticipatory bail for a film director.
Serious Allegations And Court’s Response
The accused is alleged to have repeatedly raped the gir. The court stated that granting anticipatory bail in such cases would send the wrong message to society, creating a perception that such girls can be sexually exploited without consequences.
The film director’s defense argued that the girl had consensual relations with him and that she had submitted an affidavit to the court stating that the FIR was a result of a misunderstanding. She also mentioned that she had no objection if the accused was granted bail.
However, the court was not convinced by this argument. It stated that given the allegations that the film director took obscene photos and videos of the girl and threatened to make them public if she did not comply with his demands, it did not believe that the girl’s statement was made without pressure.
The court also noted that the girl had undergone multiple abortions. To gather more information and obtain obscene photos/videos, custodial interrogation of the accused is necessary. Therefore, the court rejected the anticipatory bail plea.
