UP Polls: 46.40% Voter Turnout, SP Chief Calls Out BJP’s Evacuation Failure

A voter turnout of 46.40 percent was recorded till 3 pm for the seventh and terminal phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.

Fifty four constituencies, spanning nine districts, are going to polls in this phase. The voting commenced at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm, with the counting of votes slated to take place on 10 March.

The focal point of Monday’s polls is Varanasi, where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led coalition had won all eight Assembly segments in 2017, bestriding the “Modi wave”.

It is the twelfth day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and there are still around 800 Indian students stranded in Sumy, some of whom, while speaking to The Quint, claimed that all the attention of the media and the government is focused on big cities like Kharkiv and Kyiv.

Most of them belong to Sumy State University.
